Collaborating for Missions

The past few months have been really encouraging for us. Since February Queen has been coaching a few missionaries from Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa on support raising. Support raising is a hard, painful and often a very lonely journey. Having done support raising for the past 13 years she gets to share her experience about the pains, joys and the faithfulness of God in fund raising. She has been doing this with African missionaries who are from churches with little to no involvement in missions. Pray for her as she expands this ministry to more missionaries and as she encourages, cheers on and prays along with these new missionaries.

In May she had her first missions prayer meeting and had people from different organisations and churches coming together to pray for missionaries and the unreached. In June she had another meeting with 2 other organisations (OM and CAPRO) to plan collaborative initiatives aimed at mobilising missionaries from Southern Africa. Their 1st initiative is a multi-organizational conference planned for sometime next year. So far she has been working with missionaries from MAF, OM, CAPRO, IMB, YWAM and others. Through all these initiatives we have been greatly encouraged by the beauty of kingdom partnerships and the joy of walking alongside others across organisational lines. Please pray that God will ‘breathe’ life into  these initiatives and bring them to fruition.

FAMILY UPDATE

Thabi and Ntunga are adjusting steadily to life in South Africa. There are areas where they are thriving and other areas that are still challenging for them. Please pray for them to grow in confidence, in assertiveness and in building relationships.

With the kids settling in school Queen has been getting more engaged in ministry as sated above. Pray for her as she does all her different roles as a mother, wife and missionary.

Sadly, Tshepang was robbed at gunpoint whilst on his way to visit our team in Lesotho in April. For a period he had no passport, no ID or drivers license. After the incident he had a few debriefing sessions with the AIM counselling department and is doing relatively ok. On the bright side he has been home for longer and we are all happy about that.

He finally got his new passport but now needs to transfer his South African residency permit to his new passport. Please pray that the process will be seamless and that he will get the permit transferred soon. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support for us during this period. Thank you for your care, love, generosity and thoughtfulness.

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

As you can already tell being back in South Africa has afforded us many opportunities to get more involved in mobilisation. Last month Tshepang was a speaker at a Youth for Christ missions evening in Botswana. Later this month we are speaking at a missions conference hosted by Ethnos Missions International here in South Africa. In August, Tshepang will be speaking at an AIM/SIM  missions conference in Namibia. Please pray for us as we get more involved in mobilisation many more people from this part of the world will be challenged to get involved in missions in some way.

Our main ministry role is to lead AIM teams working across Southern Africa. We have missionaries from 6 continents serving in the region. Please pray for us as we lead these individuals who are different and who have different needs. Pray Ephesians 1:17 over us as we lead “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better”. Pray that we may know our precious Lord better and for wisdom and revelation to lead His people well.

MALI

TSHEPANG is planning a 10 days outreach to MALI in September. Mali is a country in West Africa that has a significant number of unreached people groups. AIM is trusting God to see teams established in that region of Africa over the next few years. In this trip Tshepang will visit and spend time with some missionary teams working in the country to encourage them and also see the needs on the ground for mobilisation purposes. He is currently raising funds for the trip. $500 of the $2000 target has been given so far. Please pray for all the funds to come in before the end of August. If the Lord leads you to give towards the outreach you can give here and please use “MALI” as a Reference. If this method doesn’t work please let us know and we can share on alternative ways of giving. Please pray that this will be a fruitful trip and that Tshepang will be an encouragement to these workers in Mali.

IGNITE MOZAMBIQUE

In our last newsletter we shared about the new Southern region outreach designed for church leaders and pastors. Our first one will take place in Mozambique from the 1st till 13th of October.

This program provides mission and church leaders an opportunity to experience ministry amongst some people groups in Central Mozambique. We still have some space for more leaders to join. Do you know a church or mission leader who could benefit from this outreach? Please let us know, we would like to chat with them. And please be in prayer for this to be an impactful outreach.

Tshepang your continued support enables us to continue serving the way we do. Your prayers make a difference in our lives and work. And your faithful financial support is very encouraging. We hope you know what a blessing you are to us. Thank you for allowing God to use you as an encouragement to us.
